R. Tara Slone

Ms. Slone, founding principal of Marketing Matters Ltd., has a wide range of experience in business and marketing management. Her background includes extensive new product successes as well as ongoing franchise and portfolio management.

Prior to founding Marketing Matters, Ms. Slone was Vice President of Marketing for Dawson Home Fashions, acting as the general manager for the Department and Specialty Store business of this home fashion and bath and body concern. There she quadrupled the business in two years through new product activity, expanded distribution, aggressive marketing programs, and the launch of a bath and body collection.

Previously, Ms. Slone was Vice President of Marketing for Revlon Consumer Products, responsible for the Fragrance Division, comprised of over fifteen brands including Charlie and Jean Nate. At Revlon, she successfully launched three brands and numerous line extensions. She began her career in product management at Bestfoods with responsibility for Mueller's Pasta and subsequently, Hellmann's Mayonnaise including the launch of Hellmann's Light. She received her M.B.A. in Marketing and International Business with honors from New York University Graduate School of Business and she received her B.A. from George Washington University where she was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma.

Ms. Slone is an active member of several professional organizations including American Marketing Association and Cosmetics Executive Women and has been quoted in a wide range of industry publications.

As an active member of UJA-Federation, she serves on the Board of Directors of Larchmont as well as the newly formed Kids Club. Previously, as a member of the Israel Bonds Young Leadership Board, she founded the Young Parents League Division. For her efforts on behalf of Israel Bonds, she was one of a group of distinguished women honored at Avery Fisher Hall. Tara also serves on the Board of Directors of the Emelin Theatre in Mamaroneck.


Carol Goldstein

Prior to joining Marketing Matters, Carol was a Principal in the Marketing Strategy practice at Luminant Worldwide, Inc., a publicly-traded Internet Services company where she spearheaded interactive marketing strategy engagements for Fortune 500 clients in financial services, travel and entertainment sectors. Carol was a recipient of the Luminant One Team Award.

Carol held the position of Vice President and other positions at American Express, Travel Related Services Company, Inc. for ten years, focusing on consumers and merchant marketing. At American Express, Carol developed a strong expertise in direct marketing (acquisition, loyalty and retention programs) as well as general advertising (strategy, creative, media planning). In particular, she developed and launched a premier U.S. airline co-brand credit card product, designed and implemented multi-media marketing programs for key restaurant/entertainment companies and developed strategies to penetrate new industry segments. Carol won both the Chairmanšs Award for Quality and the Team SE Excellence Award.

Carol began her career at the Boston-based advertising agency of Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos Advertising, Inc. where she held positions as a print media buyer and planner and won first prize in the Inside Print magazine Perfect Print Plan contest.

Carol received a B.A. in Economics from Brandeis University and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Marketing from Columbia University Business School

In addition to her multifaceted work experience, Carol devotes time to charitable endeavors and community service. Carol directs publicity for the Mamaroneck Schools Foundation, a volunteer non-profit community organization that raises funds to provide schools within the Town of Mamaroneck, Westchester County, New York with supplemental funding for innovative programs, materials and enhanced facilities and equipment over and above the regular school curriculum. She is also the editor for the PTA Newsletter for the Central Elementary School in Mamaroneck.
